First Walkthrough
Last Thursday, we had our first walkthrough. We got to go through the house and pretty much mark whatever we wanted fixed down. A lot of what we wanted fixed were cosmetic, lots of paint issues and some stucco problems on the outside of the house. The big issues were the two bowed walls mostly and there were a bunch of problems with the cabinets. The walls were interesting to talk about with the lady there from the builder. Pretty much she said that she knew about the island problem...which I thought was really nice - Well we know that wall is all messed up, but we'll see if the buyers notice and if we have to fix it or not. She also said that they had tried to fix the island but that was as good as they got it, and "I knew it was going to be a problem". The other wall she just saw when we pointed it out I think. By the time we went for our walkthrough, they had installed the furnace and the garbage disposal and fixed some of the other things that the inspector found. So after we took the time marking down everything, they just put pieces of tape marking where the problems are. The walkthrough took about 3 hours. She said she thought they could have everything fixed in a week, so we should be able to close on the 13th.
