Settling In (kinda)

After moving in, we had a bunch of things still to get done. Get the appliances delivered, had a few things for the builder to fix yet, and get cable, phone, internet etc. We had the appliances scheduled for the Tuesday after we moved, and since Ian had meetings all day, I got to stay home to try to get things done. Since we had the appliances coming that day, we also scheduled the cable guy and the builder to finish up then too so we wouldn't have to take much time off of work. Of course, that didnt' work so well. Pretty much the builder fixed one thing, as I sat at home all day...the appliances didn't get delivered and the cable guy didn't come. I did get a chance to do a bunch of unpacking though, woohoo! :)

Appliances came on that Thursday (and the refrigerator had a dent in the front, so I had them replace that one on another day), builder took another week and a half to get things done, and the cable took over 2 weeks to get hooked up. Don't ask me how we survived with no cable or internet :).

We still have a bunch of stuff to get done, mainly to buy some real furniture. The first weekend, we put up a ceiling fan (we have 3 more to buy and install at some point), the second weekend we did the water softener. Well, to put that more correctly, we tried for about 12 hours to install the water softener, then had to live without water for a night and hired someone to fix it all the next day. We did nothing on the next two weekends, one was my birthday, so we had that weekend off :)

The weekend after that, we went to the Cardinals vs Steelers preseason game, had a great time. Got there early to tailgate, then went to a big pool party, so we got no house stuff accomplished.

This week, we ordered our window coverings :), a nice $2500 for all 17 of our windows. And we hung a curtain up in between the master bedroom and bathroom. Course we got out our new drill (thanks to Jarrett and Justin for the housewarming present), drilled holes, put everything up. Then realized we needed to move everything, so we had to fill in those holes and drill some new ones. Anyway, it turned out ok now I think.

Hopefully next weekend, we'll get out to spend some money on furniture (joy!).
