Framing Complete!

Well, its been a little over a month since the last update, bad Amy! But our framing has been done for a few weeks now. About 2 weeks ago we had our "framing walkthrough" where we met with the construction foreman in charge of our house and got to go through the house pretty much just making sure that all of the options we selected were in the house. Not really sure what they do at this point if they forgot something important! Anyway, everything was in, so no real problems. The construction guy said that it would be about 90 days until our house was complete! He did say however, that they were having problems getting enough people to do the drywalling and that was holding things up sometimes. After that meeting, the plan was for them to put the insulation in and start drywalling. We went down the last 2 weekends...insulation is mostly in, but it looks like it is not completed and the drywall is just sitting in the house.

We were also going to get the house inspected by an outside place, but I guess we missed that, since it needed to be done before the insulation phase. So we are just going to do the final walkthrough inspection.

We met with 2 more poolbuilders. One that the guy just spent half an hour with us, and really didn't want to do a real "design" or customize things for us. the other we are still waiting to get a quote back from them, but it sounded like it was going to be over 32K. We aren't sure if we might push them putting the pool in for a while, since if they start building it when we move in, it will be done around October. Too late for anything but just having to clean it all the time and have to wait for the next summer to swim. It might be nice to see how much things are going to end up costing us before we really decide what we can afford too.

Probably won't get around to updates for a few weeks again. In a wedding this weekend, and then off to Jamaica the week after that....such a difficult life, I know!
